Déjà Vu: La Salle Academy Recruits Winco for Second Installation - 50 Years Later
They say history repeats itself. We agree! La Salle Academy, founded 144 years ago, began as an elementary school in Providence, Rhode Island. Today, this historic treasure is now a co-ed private academy.

That's where we come into the picture. In 1954, we replaced the original 1925 wooden hung windows with a more efficient aluminum projected window system. Fifty years later, it was ?déjà vu? when Winco was again recruited to replace the windows.

The Challenge: Returning to the original hung window design while integrating modern energy benefits and functionality. The large 240" x 100" windows have five units per classroom, each with a large 48" x 50" operable vent.

The Solution: Working with True Enterprises, Inc., Winco's New England representative, Winco replaced the 1954 aluminum windows with Winco's 1450 Series fixed-over-projected hung replica windows to reflect the original 1925 design.

The upper fixed glass is in a different plane than the bottom projected vent. Thanks to a custom stainless steel 4-bar arm for support, the windows are easy to operate.
