Project Details
Perched high on a cliff above a winding Missouri River, a treasured family escape with spectacular views had seen better days. The owners had to make a choice: sell it or find a solution for the house’s failing windows. The original wood-framed windows could not stand up to the bluff’s 30-mph wind gusts, were often leaking, extremely drafty, and required constant repair.
When the desired sleek, modern look and high-performance requirements couldn’t be met with typical residential windows, contractor Tom Sikorski with Chouteau Building Group, approached WINCO Window Company about using commercial grade windows for the getaway’s window replacement. Siklorski often uses WINCO commercial windows in his high-end residential projects and knew the company could do the custom job once again.
WINCO Series 1450 Hung Replica windows and NC-82 doors were a perfect fit, providing performance with style and meeting the tall glass height of the 120” doors. The new, custom floor-to-ceiling windows and doors fit snugly into the original openings with custom-built frames, and ensuring that interiors stay warm, dry, and comfortable for the owners. The black anodized trim that was used inside and out will maintain its matte finish through years of exposure to sun, heat, rain, and humidity while providing a beautiful frame for the surrounding scenery.
