Oversized, Operable Windows Make Guests Feel at Home
The 144-suite Residence Inn by Marriott in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built with guests’ comfort in mind. Oversized, operable windows supplied by Winco Window Company provide plenty of daylight, fresh air, and city views that contribute to a relaxing visit. Guests enjoy a homey atmosphere, whether staying for a few days, weeks, or months.
Winco supplied the Residence Inn with 139 of the 3350 series windows designed for placement in large openings and close together to create a window wall feature. The heavy insulated glass configured with robust aluminum frames offers significant sound abatement. The 3350 series windows are configured to fit the needs of the hotel’s studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom suites so that guests have control of lighting and ventilation during their stay.
The Residence Inn is centered at a hub of activity—adjacent to Magee Women’s Hospital of UPMC and the University of Pittsburgh Oakland Campus, as well as easy access to healthcare, education, the arts, sporting events, and entertainment.
Surrounded by major institutions, large venues, and bustling activity, noise measurements were performed by BABICHacoustics at the site of the Residence Inn, as well as inside guest rooms, to determine acceptable noise levels. Winco was delighted to be part of the overall acoustic solution for this project.
