Looking Good from Every Angle

The J•Linea luxury apartments in Washington, DC put a creative spin on an historic renovation. The original building, designed by one of the city’s first Black architects more than a century ago, sits in the heart of Shaw neighborhood, an area known for its rich history, culture, and social life in the late 19th and early 20th century. The architects built the predominantly, dark glass-fronted apartments above and back from the original façade’s pale brick as a gracious counterpoint.

Winco’s 3325SF Zero Sightline window series takes centerstage of the creative design, providing units with nearly floor-to-ceiling views of the vibrant neighborhood. The beauty of Winco’s 3325SF Zero Sightline Series is operability with window vent inserts.

3325SF Zero Sightline windows can be used side-by-side to fill large openings for expansive views and daylighting while incorporating window vent inserts into the design for natural ventilation. They are the perfect solution for providing unobstructed views and controlling airflow without sacrificing thermal performance in typical storefront or curtainwall projects.

Pulling back from the original façade street level footprint opens air space around the apartments, allowing for unique, angular-shaped balconies to be built for many units. There are 132 units in the J•Linea apartments, ranging from studio apartments to one or two-bedroom units with den options, lofts, as well as eight penthouse units with 180-degree city views. With Zero Sightline windows in multiple rooms, residents can modulate airflow in different rooms.
