As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Kurtis Suellentrop splits his time between securing new business opportunities and transforming how Winco communicates with architects and glazing contractors. His efforts at both tasks have been successful with steadily increasing sales each year.
Kurtis has been with Winco since 2002. He started in detailing and drafting, then worked in Winco's paper fabrication department, which is like pre-engineering, and then on to more design work, starting with Winco's blast-resistant windows program. Prior to his work in Sales and Marketing, Kurtis managed Winco's R&D program, including multi-threat systems encompassing human impact resistant, dynamic, acoustic, thermal, tornado, and hurricane windows. He is well-versed in all aspects of window design, manufacturing, and installation process. As a result of his deep experience in dealing with customers directly, he ensures that all Winco representatives have advanced technical knowledge about the company's products to better serve architects.
Fun fact: Kurtis graduated from college, started at Winco, and got married all in the same month. That seems to have set a precedent for multi-tasking. In an average work week, Kurtis works at Winco’s office headquarters, goes over to the factory to confer with mechanics and machinists, and regularly is involved in the actual R&D, testing, and installation of new concept windows.
He graduated from the University of Missouri-Rolla (now Missouri University of Science and Technology) earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Design and Thermodynamics. Kurtis lives in St. Louis with his wife and two children.
