Austin’s 70 Rainey High-Rise Offers Spectacular Terrace Views
Austin’s newly built residential tower at 70 Rainey Street reigns supreme. It stands a minimum of 100 feet higher than surrounding buildings for unobstructed, panoramic views of the Colorado River, the Austin skyline and the Hill Country beyond.
Much creative thought went into ensuring that each of the 164 luxe condos enjoy these beautiful views and it was achieved twofold:
First, Architects Page Inc. designed a high-rise with a literal 14-degree twist starting at the twelfth floor. This slight rotation from the podium base creates a parallelogram-shaped floor plan that helps each unit take advantage of the scenery.
Second, every condo has a large terrace balcony accessible through WINCO’s NC82 Terrace Doors. This is a feat unto itself, considering that most high-rise buildings are usually completely sheathed in glass curtain walls.
WINCO’s Terrace Doors provide residents with safe, secure access to their outdoor space. They were selected for their unrivaled design flexibility, aluminum strength and durability, and thermal performance, which helps keep the Austin heat out without spoiling the views.
“The balconies of 70 Rainey make the views more accessible to residents,” says Jim Krueger, CSI, Architectural Products of Texas. “The WINCO Terrace Doors blend indoor and outdoor living, creating the best of both worlds.”
