Gantt Miller is the dynamic and forward-thinking CEO of Winco Window Company, a leading manufacturer of architectural windows and custom-designed window solutions for the commercial and institutional construction industry. With a degree in Architecture, a strong background in construction, engineering and business leadership Gantt has played a pivotal role in expanding Winco’s market portfolio along with elevating its product offerings. Under his leadership, the company has emphasized quality, craftsmanship, innovation and customer service, becoming known for its high performance and durable windows used in diverse building projects such as schools, hospitals, and government facilities.
After taking the helm of Winco, Gantt explored various roles within the company, giving him a deep understanding of both the technical and operational sides of the business. He has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth, ensuring its commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices and maintaining a strong culture of collaboration and excellence. Gantt has always placed a high value on hiring not only his family members but also members of his employee’s families. This culture of family has served Winco well, and the company has an extremely high retention record.
In addition to overseeing Winco’s growth and development over the past forty-five years, Gantt found the time to give back to the industry by donating thousands of hours of his time to the industry’s leading association, the American Architectural Manufacturing Association (AAMA), now known as FGIA. Miller was a part of 50 different AAMA committees and task groups for decades and has served as a co-chair on five of these committees. He served as the former president and then chairman of the AAMA Board of Directors from 2007-2008 and was involved in numerous other groups and roles in guiding the day-to-day operations of AAMA.
One of Gantt’s significant accomplishments during his work with AAMA was the release of voluntary specifications for testing and rating building components that will be exposed to tornadoes and similar extreme wind and rain conditions. Gantt chaired the task force that released the standard in 2011 and was also very involved with development of hurricane and blast/security standards. Under his leadership Winco conducted, with the help of two Universities, over 1000 live blast tests.
In 2012 Gantt was given the Outstanding Member Award by AAMA, awarded to an individual who has distinguished themselves in their work and dedication to the advancement of AAMA and the industry as a whole.
Personally, Gantt has always been active in sports from being a first string high school and then college football player to today’s activities including: skiing, hiking, gardening, golf, tennis and pickle ball as time and his abilities allow. Traveling for Winco endeavors, family get togethers and his businesses in the Virginias and Delaware keep Gantt and Kory on the move. One of his greatest pleasures come from working with their three sons, two of whom are actively involved with Winco and the other son an organic produce farmer in France. With five grandchildren to spoil and enjoy Gantt has set an example for the love of sports, hard work and fun.
