The Many Advantages of the Transira™ Retrofit Window Solutions Accessory Sash
Whether the project is a renovation or new construction, window selection can be upgraded for improved energy efficiency, added security, occupancy comfort, ease of maintenance, and more with the accessory sash from Winco’s Transira™ Retrofit Window Solutions.
Desert Skies Middle School in Sun Valley, Nevada, is another new school built within the Washoe County School District to meet the needs of a growing population. For this new school project, Winco provided window systems in a variety of styles that are installed with the Transira Retrofit Window Solutions accessory sash. This approach allows architects and builders to use multiple window sizes and styles, including Winco’s 3350 series, with high performance, motorized built-in blinds.
The innovative system can be integrated into the Building Management System (BMS) to raise or lower blinds remotely, as well as wired to a wall keypad for local control. Teachers have autonomous control of classroom daylighting while administrators can override the system for privacy and safety in the event of a security breach.
The glass encased blinds are spared material deterioration from germs and damage from daily handling. Insulated glass reduces heat transfer, ensuring a comfortable environment and lower utility costs.
The retrofit configuration of Transira’s accessory sash can be used with almost any storefront, curtainwall, or inboard of existing primary windows. It’s designed to be easily dropped into an existing opening, making installation much easier and cost-effective than installing a new window, making it a win for schools like Desert Skies.
