A Quiet Room Next to an Airport? Yes, It’s Possible.
While the new six-story 80,660-square foot Hyatt Place hotel in Warwick, Rhode Island, sits adjacent to T.F. Green Airport and Amtrak railroad lines, it still provides a quiet place to sleep thanks to "sound" construction. Plenty of attention was given to ensuring that the 125 guest rooms would be noiseless and much of that credit can be attributed to WINCO's 8325 Infinity Series strut windows.
Designed for structural and thermal performance, as well as durability, WINCO's 8325 Infinity Series is an economical 3-1/4" deep strut window system. For this project, the whole window assembly needed to meet a Sound Transmission Class (STC) rating of 46. This was accomplished without the use of triple glazing or interior sashes, both of which are techniques commonly used in order to reach higher level STC ratings.
In the end, WINCO's northeast sales representative True Enterprises, Inc. was able to meet and exceed Hyatt's expectations.
