Middle School Is Cool for Students at Blackstone Valley Prep
When Blackstone Valley Prep Middle School in Central Falls, Rhode Island, started its 2015-16 academic year, students were treated to a newly renovated, fully upgraded former private Catholic school. New Yorkbased Civic Builders, a nonprofit organization backed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, helps high-quality charter schools like Blackstone Valley Prep finance and renovate private space to suit their needs.
In this case, $7.5 million was spent on buying an old, 31,000-square-foot building and updating it with new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, an elevator, and Winco’s Series 1150S Projected Windows. The new windows feature a clear anodized finish, exterior grid, mesh screening, radius windows and panning. Plus, Winco Windows provide outstanding protection from noise, wind and water infiltration, as well as offer energy-saving thermal ratings.
Now Blackstone Valley Prep Middle School is ready to serve students well into the 21st century.
