Energy-Saving Windows Make Huge Impact at Sister Thea Bowman School
After being hit hard by vandals in August of 2015, Sister Thea Bowman School, a highly successful elementary school in East St. Louis needed to replace the damaged bank of windows quickly. Winco Window Company learned of the school’s dilemma and helped them secure the ultimate in replacement windows. The school’s aging windows were barely functional, even without the vandalism. WINCO reached out to its industry partners to secure deep discounts for the school, enabling them to install the latest in high-performance polycarbonate security windows. Winco’s 1150 series was used for the project.
In the eight years that followed, the school fundraised tirelessly to replace all the windows throughout the school. WINCO is grateful to its partners GRP | Wegman, and others, who also contributed to the project. Bob Fogarty of GRP | WEGMAN said, “It’s been an honor working with Sister Thea Bowman School on this project. The resilience and strength of the school community are truly remarkable. We are proud to have been a part of this journey, contributing to a safe and conducive learning environment.” The job was completed in 2023, ensuring that the students, teachers, and staff have a safe, secure, and sunlit place to foster young minds!
