Historic Mill Provides Charming, Sunlit Living Space for Veterans
An old, abandoned Heaton & Cowing Mill has been transformed into Veterans for Tomorrow, a modern, functional apartment building for homeless and disabled veterans. Sitting alongside the West River in Providence, Rhode Island, Veterans for Tomorrow provides housing and access to supportive services for veterans who are homeless. Converted into 20 one-bedroom apartments, the complex also includes community space, laundry facilities, a classroom for employment training, and an outdoor patio.
The oldest part of the building dates back to 1832, and much of the existing brick was carefully preserved.
