Past meets present with Winco’s historic replica windows, designed to preserve the architectural integrity of our country’s beautiful historic buildings. Aging windows are often difficult or impossible to preserve. Winco has met the challenge of maintaining the historic look of original steel windows, with the creation of energy efficient aluminum windows that look vintage. Our team is highly experienced in working with historic preservation groups to ensure that our steel replica windows preserve the historic charm of yesteryear and meet strict design requirements.
Original window sightlines are replicated in durable aluminum. Our “steel replica” windows feature narrow sightlines and a “beveled putty-look” grid that helps conceal unique suspended center vents. Insulated “faux” divided lites emulate historic muntins while delivering modern thermal performance.
Historic options include grid profiles to accommodate a variety of designs, applied grids instead of true divided lights to achieve lower U‐Values, and Simulated Divided Lights (SDL) for a true historical appearance. Winco offers faux sashes for budget-conscious projects and revised sashes for the use of standard cam locks and casement lift locks. Accessories such as sub-frames, mullions, panning, and receptors or snap trim can help customize every project. Winco also offers unequal leg perimeter frames or taller profile frames for use as steel-hung replica windows.
We have decades-old relationships with leading historic universities by consistently providing quality manufacturing and design, true to their architectural heritage. We’ve brought new life to historic projects across the United States and our custom crafted simulated steel windows are our prized way of saluting the past. As one of the oldest window manufacturers in the country, we take special pride in historic preservation and adaptive reuse architecture.
